Meet Wagner — A Little Dog with a Big Heart. When Wagner, a 2-year-old, 26-pound Corgi mix, was found alone on the side of the road, his story nearly broke our hearts. He had been hit by a car, frightened, and starving — but one of our kind staff members stopped to help. Thanks to that act of compassion, Wagner’s second chance at life began that day. Since his rescue, Wagner has been slowly learning that the world can be a gentle place. With every meal, kind word, and friendly touch, he’s beginning to trust again. His injuries (fractured leg and lacerations) are healing, and his spirit grows stronger each day. Wagner still has a little way to go before he’s ready for adoption, but he’s getting closer to the happy ending he deserves. When the time comes, we know he’ll make a truly special companion for someone with patience, kindness, and lots of love to give. Wagner's journey isn’t over yet—but his best days are just ahead.
