At 49 lbs, this purebred (supposedly, not papered) Australian Shepherd is the perfect medium-sized companion—big enough for sturdy adventures, but small enough for a good cuddle. Born on 2/15/2021, she is just entering the prime of her life and is absolutely bursting with energy and joy. For much of her life, Sky’s "job" was being a mother. While she was a dedicated mom dog, she was primarily kept as an outside pet. Due to a change in her owner’s schedule, she was brought to us so she could finally experience what it’s like to be the center of someone’s world. Because Sky has spent most of her time outdoors, she is a bit of a blank slate when it comes to indoor living. Her new family will need to be diligent and patient with housetraining. She’s smart—like any Aussie—and eager to please, but she’ll need you to show her the ropes of being an "indoor dog." She is accustomed to living with other dogs. However, to ensure a perfect match, we require any resident dogs to come to the shelter for a meet-and-greet.
